Gardens/Silk Road + gainer + +Buy — Farmland + Develop

Cheap alt-VP piles score best when you can gain/buy many cards per turn to pad the deck count — the generalized Beggar/Gardens pattern.

Trasher + wants-to-be-trashed — Develop + Silk Merchant

Fortress/Rats/Feodum/Squire-style cards want to be trashed repeatedly; trash-for-benefit cards are happy to oblige.
